one night I accidentally clicked on something and now images seem to be loading at their full size. how do I turn that off or turn on resizing options? I tried looking in my options but I can't find it or I'm blind.

Ah crap, I remember that happened to me a while back, too, but I don't remember how I reverted it. Have you tried deleting your cache?
